Question for all the Wizards...
Somehow I think me mother lied when she said something about there being no stupid questions...but here goes...is there a way to change the BEHAV or GUID in the game that would give more options for the (attracted to) or (turn-on) without having to buy the EP's that are apparently doing just that? It just seems with all the other Global mods available out there that it should be possible?

Off the top of my head, I'd say no.
From discussions with various modders, beyond a certain point, the BHAVs make "primitive" calls, which are actually part of the compiled game. |

Oh, gotcha...would the Insiminator be able to be updated somehow to bring the attraction in game then, i mean without it being a true part of their CAS personality?

I can't think of a mod that does anything at all to the attactions. Maybe the modders haven't figured that one out yet.

Thanks for that Shorty, great advice, but I'm trying to avoid having to put Seasons, Pets, or Bon V. on my computer...although I loved Seasons, my graphics card didn't, so I am only running on S2, NL, OFB, and Uni. I will however check on the other suggestions you gave, sounds very cool...Thanks darlin...

The Insimenator can set Lifetime Wants and do some other really nifty stuff such as adding want slots and want locks; and it's compatible with any version of the game.
B'b'but... we were talking about attraction factors, which is a different thing.

LOLOLOL...Geez, I'm slow tonight...just came back here to write down the things Shorty wrote for me to check out and thought I'd lost my mind...then I saw Greg's edit boy, I need some SLEEP!!! I'll have to download a copy of the directions for the way the Insimenator works, there's too much to try to remember...Greg, seriously, for us all that are still new to this, could you post a thread of these nasty sites for those of us who don't know any better, or do you feel that defeats the whole purpose? I'm still poking around new sites when Insim or someone has a link to them for CC, but most of the time I just bypass the CC cuz I don't trust but maybe 5 sites since I got this new computer...

To modify a sim's wants and stuff, use the Insimenator's Aspirations Adjuster. Once you've got that thing spawned it's menus are pretty obvious with stuff like "Add a Want Lock."
Yeah, posting a list of criminal sites would just be advertising them, and it would make Sun Sims a part of a crime network. Basic morals would keep me from wanting to have anything to do with criminals but the fact that they are under investigation by the Department of Justice for crimes that could well put them in a federal penitentiary for the rest of their lives makes me really shy about allowing any association with them here. It should be obvious, though; the webmaster of a site that openly engages in international trafficking of stolen property is clearly commiting felony crimes.

Okay, well I'm off on the new adventure of trying to save a dime, and spending a few weeks, months, years??? figuring out the attraction operations...I guess if I hit a bad site, the blessing is AVG...it should at least give me a fighting chance this time.

I have an idea, FredsG... try blocking all traffic from adbrite.com. If the problem is coming from the advertisements, that should solve it in one swell foop.

"Swell foop"?
No worries FredsG, info exchanged, Shorty educated, problem never was. And like Greg said, try blocking adbrite. Strange, Insim Adult doesn't play up for me. No site does, unless they are having server trouble. Is your Operating System, Win XP Home, by chance? That may be some of the problem. But, that is only domain hopping mainly. Could that be some of it, XP Home can't figure corporate style domain hopping. |

Are you getting a "domain not found" message, Shorty?

No, not me mate. I'm on XP Pro Corporate, an MS Partners License.
I was wondering if that may be part of FredsG's trouble with Insim Adult. |

No...sigh...I am on that nasty Vista. Haven't had a problem with it at all since you all got me fixed here last time. but like i said, the only thing that changed was my up-grade to Cable 2MEG. ever since then, insimadult and firefox don't like each other again? but i'll try blocking adbrite and see what happens....sigh, well, that didn't work, frustration abounds again...

Oh dear.
Try Mozilla's Firefox cousin, SeaMonkey. It, like Firefox, is free. It's newer, and may play nicer with "nasty" Vista. |
