Aha, I see. Thanks for the information, Miros1. Funny enough, I've had no problems with the Ottamus clan or the Kat clan, either with paternity or pet behaviour. The why of Maxis and computers in general tax my pitiful brain power to its' maximum.

I really should try the "townie replacement" thing though. I already have the replacement names & templetes, I just haven't got the guts up to try it yet (I don't want to lose Cyd & the Critturs) but I'm growing weary of seeing that freak Goopy in every hood! Quote:
Speaking of websites, I had best get back to my Front Page efforts... -ZW * Just a funky little storyline/test created in my overly active "brain". It too will be (hopefully) a running feature on my future website.

The townies are in N001; the Pets people (that sounds frightening!) are in P001, so don't worry about losing the Pets people when you "disable" the ugly townies!

Yup, having your own web site can be lots of fun! Happiness lies in not letting it take control.
And yup, the whole idea of Pets People is more than a little disturbing. Eeesh. |

I don't supose there's anyway to replace Townies in an already created hood, eh? (Or at least replace the 99% nobody has "met" yet? ) -ZW

Hm, that's a little harder...
You have to open up SimPE and click on each SDSC (Sim Description) to see the Sim's thumbnail. Then you have to check their relationships. Once you know they don't know anyone other than other Townies you intend to delete, you can delete the Sim Scores (SCOR), Sim Wants and Fears (SWAF), Sim Relations (SREL), Sim DNA (SDNA) and Sim Description (SDSC) for that Sim. You find these by sorting the upper right window by instance number. You'll also have to write down their file number so you can delete that after you close SimPE. If you don't have "notownieregen" the game will slowly replace them. If you're in a hurry, you can make some "families" of unrelated Sims in CAS and use Inge's (Simlogical) bush to make them Townies. Remember, Dormies are YA Townies! Actually, on second thought, leave the SDNA -- JMP sez removing some of them causes BFBVFS. Only delete the SDNA if you've set off a neutron bomb (deleteallcharacters). Last edited by Miros1 : 05-05-2007 at 08:25 PM. |

Yep, and if you leave bits behind, the new Sim might incorporate them instead of overwriting! You could have a newborn baby that wants to Woohoo in the Hot Tub, or some other silliness.

So far, the only wants I've seen in babies are to buy flower beds; but maybe that was just Barry.

sorry for being MIA, have been thoroughly caught up in the Apocalypse Challange!
Here's my prob, following game rules, I adopted a stray...luckily she had learned all her Commands already and I got her a job as a Service Pet. But she has never gotten a promotion! And now she is an elder and has retired How on earth do you get your pet promoted? |

The pet also has to be in a good mood when they go to work, just like a human.
Since you're playing Apocalypse, I assume you don't have the hack that lets your pet or Sim get the highest level job they're "qualified" for? With that hack, it's possible that the pet just got the top job and stayed there. What was the job title? I can look it up for you... |
