Yup, if you follow the money, you see who is in control.
It also explains a lot of other things.

Congratulations on a wonderful 50 years! It's hard to believe that nobody has been to the moon since before I was born but I'm glad there's a moon program again!

Thank you, Crystal! For me, it's hard to cope with the idea that someone born after the last guy walked on the moon could be 35 years old now!

We'll get there! It might take another dozen years, but we'll do it, and with a microsmidgeon of the peak Apollo budget.

I hope it's not too late to add my congratulations, Greg! It rattles my brain to think that you were alive to witness it all from the very beginning.

It's not how much money you spend on it. It's what you do! What NASA does is fantastic! I can only just imagine what throwing a four million pound machine into the sky by its exhaust pipe must be like!

It's never too late for congratulations, Reader! Thank you!

It's kind of neat to think I had a small part in it, along with 20,000 of my closest friends!

I do remember the whole thing from the beginning, all the way back to the days before Sputnik, but I didn't start working on NASA programs until 1979, a couple of years before the first launch of the Space Shuttle.

It must of been very exciting to grow up then. I heard on TV they say the age of big science is over and we couldn't do it today or anything like it. I hope its not.
