Default BV Official Patch, take 2

So I see that there is another patch out for BV on the official site.

This has got to be the longest span yet (the first was released back in November or so, was it not?) between patches.

Of course this means anyone out there with a "patch one" no-cd exe had better wait for the "patch two" exe to be released before swapping/patching/re-swapping their exe files.

Now if the patch would just remove SecuROM...

I thought it was 3? The first fixed the directory snafu, the second fixed most of the stuff in the latest and this one added a few more fixes. Or was it just 2?

only 2 patches were released, but they combined the first patch with the second. There are a lot of unhappy people on the bbs. Loads of complaints that it made the lagging worse and other problems. Patch may not help sims characters played before patch.

Shall we go for take 3?? I was on the exchange last night and there is either another patch dated for the 25th or either they updated the date from the 21st. I downloaded and it's the same size so I don't know whether they have replaced it or just changed the date.

Evidently, it was the same patch - when I ran it, it said I was already updated.

The latest date on the BV patch is now March 1st.

I don't see anything different in the list of fixes from the February listing though...

Maybe they fixed the fixes?

Nope - it's probably the same one. I noticed that the date changes on the page to the current date. Already downloaded it 2x too many and tried - keeps telling me my game is up to date.

It sounds like someone updated the one on the web site just for fun, then. Or maybe the earlier one got corrupted.

They've done it again, dated March 05. I don't know what they're doing over there. I guess I have that in common with them.

I think all that is happening is that the message on the website is dynamic and just changes to the current date. There isn't a new patch.

That could be the case! It's pretty silly, though.

Oh no, it's not new. The same bug fixes are listed. It just tickles me that they seem to be widely broadcasting this patch.

That would indicate that folks at EA think it's very important to install the patch. There might be something to it beyond just fixing nuisances in the game.

Yep. Almost like they aren't telling us something. Gee, I think I may fall over and die from not surprise.
