Problems with thesims2.com
They changed it, and for some reason, when you click on "North America," nothing happens! I clicked on the others and they worked. Is anyone else having this problem?

(ZW heads on over to Sims2.com, via her trusty bookmark...)
What the heck ?????? No, you are not alone; I can't seem to get anywhere either. Clicking on "North America" just gets me a lil "Welcome" message, but nothing happens. Conclusion: not content to just mess with their EPs, Maxis went & broke their previously unbroken website. Yipee.

Other than patches and the few downloads from the Maxoids, what do you really want there?

I just go there to see if anyone had any artistic talent that day, and to read some stories. Not that there aren't good stories here, it's just they're all finished or forgotten or I already read that chapter. And it's good to hear that I'm not alone! Yay!

BV is going to give me enough grief as it is- I don't want to have to jump through hoops to get the Patch, which is the only way I will ever install it! (Well, the Patch & a little old exe file "upgrade"...)

Oh by the way they fixed the website. It's now back to the old format. Yay! Thanks Zirconia Wolf for not making me feel like a complete idiot!

Maybe they tried to install that copy protection scheme on their web site.

That would have been too perfect. I would just loved to have seen how they tried to explained that away...

Zirconia Wolf, you are definitely not alone. I also feel like a complete idiot here at times. I don't even know what InTeen is. (I don't need an answer to that, I could care less. I'm just happy that I finally figured out how to work SimPE.)
Copy protection...

Learning to use SimPE involves a definite learning curve! (I'm still gathering the courage to make my first object...)
Just because I like to answer stuff, InTeen is short for InTeenimater, which is a very well-known 3rd Party Mod that- as it's main feature- enables Teenage Sims to get engaged/married & pregnant by/with other Teens, Young Adults (if you have the University EP) or even Adult Sims. While the "Teen Pregnancy" thing is the main reason most people use it, InTeen has a lot of other features too, my favorite of which is a set of "Flavor Packs" that allow you to customize many of InTeen's behaviors. My favorite of the Favor Packs (and in fact the whole reason I use InTeen in the first place) is called Residential Graduates & makes it possible to have actual University families living in a College Town. (Also lets YA Sims get pregnant/etc which makes the University Pack actually worth playing, IMHO...) So anyway, now you have an idea what InTeen is...even if you don't care! (As the youngest member of Sun Sims, I'm thinking your parents wouldn't think much of any "Teen Pregnancy" type things in you game anyway. So forget I said anything... )

With the high difficulty of raising Sim babies, I'd think InTeen would actually be a deterent to RL teen pregnancy. One woman's opinion...

Hmmmm...
Actually, you've got a point there! Maybe if more RL Teens spent some time trying to raise Sim babies/toddlers (without any hacks) a few less of them would be as forgetful/non-educated about birth control & such.

I'd agree. I can't help but think back to sex ed. in high school. Which occured for two class days the second semester of my senior year. Methinks that ship had sailed, especially as two of my classmates were rather largely pregnant at the time. Good times, good times...

We had it in 10th grade, but even that was late...
I think the exercises where the kids have to carry around an egg or a bag of sugar make an impression too. |

We did the "egg" thing at my High School & I know it made an impression on me! That was also about the time I learned than many people are totally clueless when it comes to humor: we had to come up with a story about our egg baby & everyone else wrote long-winded (& overly dramatic) stories detailing the whole birthing process. Not me. Nope, my little egg was adopted, & her name was Yolkimono. (I still think that was pretty good!) Needless to say, nobody- including our Teacher- got it. Sometimes it's hard to be me...

Well, the egg thing was experimental when I was in high school, so we didn't do it. Cool name for your egg tho!

When I was in high school, the idea of kids taking care of pet egg would have invoked a call to the men in the white coats.
