Hair recolor help
I'd like to recolor some custom hair, but the creator doesn't want their hair texture recolored.
I was wondering which Maxis hair supplies a good amount of hair to cut and paste onto the creator's texture (only used for hair direction). Anyone got favorites? |

Hmm... it might help to provide an idea of what hair style you're thinking of.

Here's the one I want to work on first. Kind of looks like I just need lots of straight hair to paste together at different angles.

Ack! I can see why you want to recolor it!
If you want to create a straight pattern to overlay on hair, try creating a block of random noise and then apply the motion blur filter to it. |

Then duplicate the layer and spin it around for the other directions... That could work...
Sooo many Asian sites just can't get red hair right; it's either pink, magenta, or burgundy. |

Well, here's my first attempt:
Chriko's original for comparison: Opinions? Images are clickable for more detail. I used the Maxis bun with chopsticks for the base and the permed hair for the rest. Not a bit of Chriko's texture anywhere. I might try making the side dangley bit "superpermed" to see if I can get some curl to it. |

That shows great promise. I like the permed look to the updo. The color is much improved as well.

Thanks! Now that I have the adult hair done, hopefully, it's just save off the file multiple times to finish it up.
