Aussie Sunset Walls
Aussie Sunset Walls
Aussie Sunset Walls This is a set of three wallpapers that will tile so that you can fill a large wall section with the mural in a repeating pattern. Shorty took the picture on the western side of Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island, on the very southern end of The Great Barrier Reef. Aussie Sunset Walls Version 2 Click on pswall_aussie_sunset_r2.zip below to download version 2. You can have both versions installed; they're separate walls and have unique filenames. Aussie Sunset Walls Version 2 Her name is Cassidy and she lives on Pelican Dance Island, off the cost from Bonnyview Shores. Aha! I was right! I had the logic inverted when I scaled the walls; and consequently, the aspect ratio of the mural changed as well as showing more of the picture. Version 2 is a 4-tile repeating mural, and there is a 5th "repeating" wall. The repeating wall will tile correctly with wall "4 of 4" on its left and wall "1 of 4" on its right. It also tiles with itself. Version 2 walls used as a backdrop I also tried them out as a backdrop seen through the windows. It worked, but the camera angles that cause the backdrop to fill the screen are limited. I'll need to add a matching second story to make it more flexible. Floor tiles that merge into the water at the edge of the walls would be pretty neat, too; but for the nonce, what you see is what I got! Last edited by Greg : 05-09-2007 at 11:45 AM. |

Glad you like it! I might have a variation up here soon, because I messed up something when I made the final walls. The images got stretched and cropped. I think I must have inverted the logic of how to adjust for the fact that the game stretches the images from a 2:1 format to a 3:1 format. Oops!

I would like to see a little more water & less sky, but I like this version also. So will it be a seperate file so I can have both? Please?

Yes, if I can figure out what I did and fix it, it will be a separate file. I might be able to work on it tonight but I'm not sure about that yet.

Yeay, at last, Shorty remembers his pass word.
At last I can now see what Greg did with my happy snap. Thank you Greg, the shots look great. Well, it's back to farming for me, see you all later. Shorty. |

Now I'm thinking that these wallpapers need baseboards and crown molding to really look good as wallpaper. I left them out of the original version because the plan was to use them as a backdrop for photography. So... if I can get some time to play with it, I'll do a version 3, too.
Added: If anybody would really like to have these with kicks and crowns, don't be shy about reminding me that I want to do this. I'm thinking they'd look good with white wood but of course it's also very easy to create different colors. Last edited by Greg : 05-10-2007 at 04:28 AM. |

Do it Greg, do it. If this sudden health scare can't be fixed soon as possible. That photo might be my last gift to this world. Regards Shorty. The retired sailing shipman who took that photo. |

OK, Shorty, I shall! This one seems to get a little better with each iteration!
Darn, Shorty, that sounds ominous! Sudden health scares strike me as basically a bad idea in any case! We really need to rethink the whole idea of mortality. |

Seems now as if it is not my mortality, but the short remaining life span, of the clown who made the clerical error, and had me all concerned about SOME BODY else's health scare.
Stand down the boarding party, Mr. Mate. Seems we have a shore side patrol to do instead. Find some careless person and squash them. In sailing terms, I lived before the mast, under training from the age of 15 yrs. Retired as an officer living astern, after nearly 40 years, never, have I been responsible for accident or injury, so much as a scratch, to another person. But, at the mis-stroke of a pen, 2 peoples lives change radically. Many more than that actually, the entire circle of family and friends, of 2 people. Now I am sort of cross. Accidents don't just happen, careless people cause accidents. This one was close for me, what about the other person, if it was a test result mix up, as it now appears to be. Some body else, now has to be told some jolting news. Not good. |

I'm happy for you, but I agree... that poor person has been told his tests are normal, now he's gonna get a phone call saying You need to come back into the office...

That's definitely the stuff of nightmares and bad comedy skits. It happened to my father as well, unfortunately, he wasn't the lucky party. I too, am glad that things aren't as bad as they once seemed. Good of you to be concerned for the other folks in the situation. You and I may say, "Hey, that's just common decency," but I find decency is becoming endangered.

Thanks Homerette.
Yeah, scientific research tells me, the 2 most common elements in the universe are, Hydrogen and Stupidity. The rarest being common sense. |

Ah, good old Heinlein. Read a lot of his work, as a younger man, at sea.
The wall sets do look good in game Greg. Due to the disruption installing Seasons sent through my game. I've relocated Greybeard to new lodgings. With the small addition of a family only lockable door at the top of the stairs, the old fellow has become most comfortable in The Pearl Chataue. Nice big central feature of the 4x4, and the remainder of the walls in the repeating pattern. Looks good, I'll set up a snapshot and post it if you like. |
