*blink*
Upon second look, I'm trying to imagine how mind-bogglingly dumb you'd have to be to make a barbecue out of wood! Last edited by Greg : 03-13-2007 at 01:58 PM. Reason: The adverbial imperative. |

Not to mention that the barbecue matches the chairs, but not the tables. Like someone couldn't take 5 minutes to make a recolor of the table?
Looks like a remesh of the banquet table too, with different food. Last edited by Miros1 : 03-13-2007 at 03:09 PM. |

They're probably betting (correctly) that several fan artists will recolor the table to match the new chairs. I just think it's nice that we finally have some chairs that look like they really belong outside!
Of course, with a wooden barbecue, people won't spend much time sitting in those chairs anyhow. Yeah, the new banquet table is not very convincing. They could have tried a lot harder to make it look like the kind of stuff you'd find at a real cookout. |

Yeah, who would put gelatin and salad (and probably turkey, can't see it too well behind the Sim) in chili kettles? I bet there will be hacks out soon... I think it should be chili, potato salad and ribs!
Well, I intend to learn to clone food, so maybe I can make that hack! |

On closer look, it appears that the food is sitting atop some kind of stand, which in turn sits on the table. This doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

That's the way the original buffet table works, and at fancy-smancy events, they quite often have some of the dishes up on bases like that. I do agree, it's stooopid to have turkey at a cookout! And it is turkey; I saw another picture on the Maxis site.
I just wonder... could it be as easy as changing three numbers to make the buffet table serve something else? Even pork chops would be more appropriate than turkey! |

Or steaks! Or hot dogs! But for a proper barbecue, it's gotta be chili and reeyubs! And a big ol' jug of iced tea!

I don't think I'll be getting this new pack...I already got wedding dresses, barbecues and tons of other junk. And it cost a whole lot less than a tenner!

Well being me I will most likely give into temptaion anytime here. (Which is pretty funny considering the "want slot" glitch I am just dealing with on my very-new-and-shiny Seasons updated game. I'm etheir an optimist or terminally stupid. Not sure which...... )
On an FYI note, even though Celebrations is technically newer than etheir Pets or Seasons, if you install it & have etheir (or both) of those EPs you have to use the newest EP disk (Pets or Seasons) rather than the Celebrations one to play the game. Not that I've been reading up on it or anything....... -ZW

I unfortunatly gave in and got the pack.. I have everyone so far, why stop?! LOL... Well.. This is really really really NOT worth the $...
If you have parties, etc. for your Sims maybe this would be usefull for you... But for my sim, it is usually just her and her dogs... But the stuff that is in the pack is not very nice... Mostly all of the stuff, besides a few decorations, I will never use.... |

Party....what's that?
My games waaay to slow to even think about having a party so this stuff packs a no-no. Actually I'll probably buy it just for the sake of it, like I did with Pets. |

Yeah, that appears to be it. (The less they screw around with stuff the better, IMHO! )
While I can say I'm a massive party-thrower, I would like somemore "default" (Maxis) wedding attire! I think the lack of choices so far has pretty much sucked burnt toast. Also, I'm something of a "Pack Fanatic". (Although if any of the "super powers/heros" pack rumours on the BBS come true, I think I just might give it a pass. Magic would be cool, but the whole "comicbook" thing just doesn't jive with my vision of the Sims. ) -ZW

I just thought of what's missing: A turkey fryer. That's the only way to do a turkey at a cookout!

Well, you could smoke it...
Wonder how hard it would be to recolor the turkey and make smoked turkey? |

A smoked turkey would be cool! (I have got to learn how to re-color objects! Clothing I can do, but can't quite figure out objects... )
Oh yeah (not that anybody cares, but) I did give into addict...er...temptaion the other day & snarfed up a copy of Celebrations. So now I have a nice fresh "everything-up-to-Seasons-plus-Celebrations" game to warp. You're all just thrilled, I can tell. -ZW

Well, food is a little harder to recolor than most objects, because you have to clone it rather than just recoloring it (because you need the new menu for the refrigerator and need to link the recolored main dish to the recolored individual plates), but most objects are very easy to recolor... Let me find that quick and dirty tutorial I wrote somewhere...

Got the pack comming my way on Tuesday. I can't wait to rip into it and see what I will convert over to the sims2 game. Seems Simpe and CEP is not updated yet...ole Bloo has to do things the old way.....extract, clone, and replace. Can you believe I paid 65.00 for 2 copies of Celebration. $20.00 a piece and $25.00 in shipping from Amazon.com.....LOL does anybody smell a rat?
