Yeah, if the game won't even package up the lot for you, then the only way to export it is to remove whatever it is that's preventing the lot from being exported. Graves in a cemetery do sound like a probable culprit.

It's not a big deal. I can soon make a new cemetery - could be quite fun populating it actually :P And I will write protect the files, I did have them set to write protect before. Brain creaks a little at times :lol

Testing! Will post pictures. So far my net search agrees with Greg.
Why Sim kids are ugly: Maxis made an attempt to keep the inherited facial geometry "within limits," called faceblendlimits, which basically means your Sim kids have 3 parents, the two you've chosen, and one of the templates (not sure how the game decides which one). If your templates are ugly (like most of the Maxis supplied templates), your kids are ugly!Welcome to SunSims!

The bit about having three parents is not accurate. Face blend limits are not based on a template sim.
Face blend limits control how far one parent's facial geometry is allowed to distort the other parent's facial geometry. They should prevent bizarre-looking children, not cause them.

So far my test Sim kids look much the same with the limits on or off! Maybe I shouldn't have chosen such a distorted template to test with. I used the werewolf face from MTS2.
Theshay, what part of the tutorial are you having troubles with? I could explain and/or clarify if you need.

Faceblendlimits off:
Faceblendlimits on: As I said, virtually the same. Maybe the lupine template is just too distorted!

It certainly looks like an attempt at making a canine muzzle. You can imagine how much this endears me to the idea of installing Pets.

The lupine face has nothing to do with Pets. It's from MTS2. Maybe I'll try again with the wonderful Maxis templates...

Just an inquiry, now that I have FT installed:
Miros, should the /Program Files/The Sims 2 Free Time/TSData/Res/User Data/Neighborhood/F001 folder be added to the Scorched Earth instruction for Free Time? -ZW

Um, yeah. I'll add it to the instructions after dragging the nephew around.

Arrows? Um, no, that was my sister's son, who now works for the National Weather Service. If you talk to the forecaster with the best record from the Huntsville office, that's him!
This is hubby's brother's son who is tall and skinny and owes us money, so he can be conned into lifting heavy computer monitors and such... The Sims 2 is great at 2048xsome-other-huge-number! Zirconia, I added the thing about /Program Files/The Sims 2 Free Time/TSData/Res/User Data/Neighborhood/F001 to the scorched earth section. Are there any sub-folders in there that look like they might have Sims in them? Like the files that start with cx_ and stuff like that?

I've added the stubs for the Apartment Life Tenants (or whatever you want to call them). Preliminary reports say they're as stupid and ugly as most other Maxis creations!

Yes, there is a Characters folder in the F001 file.
I nuked the whole thing (Scorched Earth) after letting Desiderata Valley install, so I had to peek inside my zip file to remember... -ZW (I wish AL would use the existing Townies as roommates instead of adding all the "Social Group" Sims! Any idea how many of those new Sims there are?)

Does that mean there's a whole new crop of Maxian clutter in the NPC pool?

Yes, I'm afraid it does.
AL adds "Social Groups" (Bohemians, Gear Heads, Jocks, Socialites & Techs) to the mix, but rather than "upgrade" pre-existing Townies (like they did with NL) Maxis instead opted to generate a whole new pool of NPCs to add to the existing Townies population. Harrumph. -ZW

Oh, heck! More stupid ugly people to zip up and delete! Really sad that random is better than Maxis generated!
Um, Downtownies weren't upgraded Townies, they were their own stupid ugly group.
