I'm sure she's busy with make-up and hair and general primping...

It's so weird to actually say I have a husband now. I'm in the newlywed mushy phase and making everybody ill with it :P

Pics as promised...

This one is my favorite, after the wedding and before we signed the certificate (I think):

This was during the ceremony:

After the ceremony, all his little cousins swarmed us...

It was a tiny wedding, informal (but dang it, I was a bride and wanted to wear a veil!) and we didn't have the whole professional cake and photographers and stuff. Just us and our close friends and family, and it was better than I could have dreamed of!

Congratulations again!

You both look joyful, which is the whole point, isn't it?

Neat! Congratulations, Kaylynn! That's the way to do it! After all, marriage is a family-making thing, so it ought to be a family gathering from the start!

That's a pretty nifty house. It even compliments your dress! The flag in the window is a nice touch, too! Were you in Louisiana?

I'm late, as usual, cause I've been away since my computer is sick. LOL

Anyhoo, Many congratulations and the bestest of wishes to you and your new hubby! May your love and happiness grow with each day together.

(I'm a sap - yes, I know)

Looks like you two are very happy, congrats! Sometimes the tiny, informal weddings allow you to appreciate the whole thing more rather than getting lost in details.

Yep, it was very close to where I'm living. A mutual friend of mine and Eddie's was gracious enough to let us have it at his (very pretty) house. I did a few trays...veggies, meat and cheese, fruit, and bought a 1/2 sheet cake with our names and the date on it (think birthday cake but subdued). JoP came out and we had Eddie's dad and girlfriend, his mom and younger brother, most of his family that live down the street from us, my best friend, mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law, and several mutual friends (including the infamous Lee, the now gay ex-boyfriend of mine that helped bring us together). Probably about 20 people total. But I much preferred it to a huge year-long planning spree and risking turning into a bridezilla...

Sounds like a good idea to me! I have long wondered why so many wedding celebrations turn into a potlatch.
