Just to torment all of you...
Screenshot of sample report from my new proggie:
Basically, you run Delphy's Download Organizer, then my program generates reports based on the output file from DDO. This one shows which Skintones and ClothingRecolours are associated with each mesh... Yes, it's sorting backward. It's not done yet. |

Neat!
Does this mean we might get the image-cleaner soon?

Well, in the process, I'm learning the XSL that will help me write the image cleaner...

Oh neat! Is there some language or utility that's useful for processing XSL?
I was thinking about that today. You could do a lot of fun things with the stories in the photo albums if you could parse the whole thing. In this case, though, it's just a matter of searching for ".jpg" in a string and then parse out the word that contains it, delimited by spaces or punctuation.

Actually, if it's good XML, it would be easy to write an XSL script to make an html page with any arrangement of data from the XML file. Very easy, much easier than cross-referencing various Meshes and their Recolors... I had to beg for help on tek-tips.com!
I'm wondering if RTF would be a viable output format.... As for how to process XSL -- well, months ago when I started this lunatic project, I made a nice little Java proggie that runs from the command line and takes 3 parameters -- XSL file, XML file, and output file... I just need to give it a pretty user interface, so people can browse for their files! |

Not to mention, it should be an easy way to find the skins that are incompatible with sexyfeet!

Yeah, what Homerette said. Anything that demystifies the clothing collections is a good thing!
Now I'm wondering if it would be possible to also identify what categories each clothing item is in.

I think there's at least one catagory stored in PackageDB.xml, the output file from DDO, which I use for source material (why parse package files when you can parse XML, which already has a parser and a transformer (but doesn't make julienne fries).

Are you using a parsing routine that comes with Java?
Homerette, don't worry; we're at the limit of my ability to understand what Rose is saying!

Yepper... there's like 10 lines of Java code to load up an xml file, an xsl file and write an html file as output. Very cool!

Neat! That just might mean that PHP has features like that, too. It seems that whatever happens in Java also happens in PHP.

Yep, just had Java installed and PHP gobbles hard drive, so Java was the language of choice.
I also wanted a stand-alone application, so I didn't have to tell users to install PHP! Last edited by Miros1 : 01-16-2008 at 10:22 PM. |

*blink*
Is there a version of PHP that doesn't require a web server?

Yep. http://www.php.net/downloads.php#v5
You have to change the "open" action for the php extention to "run" it with the main php exe (or create a "run" action) and create an "edit" action to modify the script with your favorite text editor. Had it on my puter for work once. Who sez hanging out on the internet isn't edjumactional? |

Who indeed? I expect that the Internet, though currently a vast bastion of disinformation, is the future of education.

OK, that's 2 and 2 so far. I vote with Homerette. Mind you, I still don't seem to have found all my grey matter from Christmas yet. This is the program that sorts and finds all my crash and burn fun stuff? Good work Rose. My hat's off to you. I can run a "Nuke" power station, but I'm damned if I can make "Hello World" work. |

This is cool...very handy.
I will definitely have a use for this...if I ever get my pooter working again. LOL I think there is certainly a need for this. Its really hard to figure out some of the meshes and textures matches.

Well, that particular report finds all your meshes in PackageDB (output by Delphy's Download Organizer) and lists all the textures and skintones that use them. I figure that will come in really handy when figuring out what BodyShape a skintone uses...
