Lot Sync Timer
I started a brand new hood with no fuglies.... and I thought to my self I could use the Lot Sync Timer... from the evil place. It's a thing that has bugged me, families getting out of sync, since I started to play. I think I am using it right, by adjusting the new families' timers to match the number of days on the "original" house - all these Sims are related.... Is this the way it sposed to work? I'm not clear if I'm doing it right. The idea being I can jump to the houses that have less days and play them a bit?
The timing is a bit odd because one of my famillies has a lady with a large bod, and when she gets preggers and has triplets, as she does regularly, I speed up her pregnancy. It just doesn't look right seeing her looking 10 stone skinnier while she is pregnant lol. And what happens with it when I go to another subHood - does the timer still work across that boundary? (not counting Uni of course) I dare not ask on that place as I hate being shot at. Would appreciate suggestions/advice. TIA |

Firstly, you are not alone: It drives me crazy (for no earthly reason) the way Maxis has all their pre-made families "out of sync" with each other. That is the #1 reason I am involved in this ridiculous Reinstall From Hell; I want to get all families "in sync" with the others in their Hood!
Secondly, I totally understand not going to "The Place" to ask for help; you would most definitely be skewered alive for daring to ask for help...never mind that the Read Me file with this Mod is (like most "Read Me's" from "There") full of self-congratulations & light on actual substance. I haven't worked a ton with the Lot Sync Timer, but from what I know/gather : once "Installed" it seems to be a "Hood wide" thing, so sub-hoods (minus Uni) are included. To be honest, I only "Installed" it once & did a "Roll Back" (to an early save) as I discovered that changing the Weekday was possible without having to "Install" it. I use setHour (Maxis in-game cheat) first to set the time of day, then use the Sync Timer to set the day itself. (6 am Monday was my Default "holding time" just before adding Seasons.) Since I tend to do a "round robin" thing & play each family for a set amount of time (1 week) I decided I wouldn't bother actually "Installing" the timer, especially since Uninstalling it is a bear, as per the Read Me file. If I can dig up more info, I'll let you know... -ZW

Sita, everything works just like you said. When you're done playing one house, you click on the Timer and see which house is the farthest behind.
I also use the Event feature to set when my kids will grow up to teens or young adults, so I can make sure their friends are about the same age. I also set the timer at home so the kids will return from Uni at the appropriate time, since timers don't work on Uni lots. I haven't used a Timer on a Downtown or Shopping sub-hood, but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work properly.

Example, your Sim has a baby. The baby will become a toddler in 3 days. You set the event timer for +3. You go to another house where they have a baby that you want "in sync" with the first baby. Play the second house. When the first baby is ready for his birthday party, you'll get a message so you know to switch back to the first house to get them "caught up."
Admittedly, the end of babyhood is less important than just about any other life stage, but it was the easiest!
