Online Button Generator
I want to write a program that will generate those ubiquitous 88x31 gif images that the Ultimate Sims List uses.

Um, what are you using for source material?
I have a php scaling script somewhere on the other 'puter, if you're going to use their banner and just shrink to fit. |

I was thinking that to make a button on line, someone would select from a predefined set of patterns and colors, enter some text, and what you see is what you get. The program would generate an image and it's up to you to save it or not.
Added: People wouldn't *have* to use the online button generator. I want this because a lot of webmasters seem to have difficulty making their own buttons, or understanding that 88x31 gif does NOT mean 126x105 bmp. |

Could you check phpinfo and see if it has GIF-write capabilities? The patents are dead, but not all php installations are up to date.

Yup! "GIF Create Support - enabled" (That's under GD so I assume it's what we need here.)
