Recolors of the Maxis Bikini
..... Beleive it or not all four were done in less than five minutes. Finally got my old Corel (Corel6) to install and run on Windows XP so what is more natural than to take it for a spin doing recolors. There was no other purpose other than to see how the Corel Paint worked, but I thought I'd share with everyone here. I call them speckle if for no other reason I have no other reason. All four are packed in the rar file. Since Maxis mesh is used, there is nothing further to download. If you redo them to other meshes, please give me credit.
Dave ENJOY! |

Really neat, Dave!
I think I recognize the cut. It looks like the yellow bikini that Dallas is wearing in this shot:

It's easy! Just fire up the BodyShop that came with your latest expansion pack and go crazy!

..... It actually took me longer to make up the graphic. Crop, Copy & Paste, Crop, Copy & Paste, Crop, Copy & Paste, Crop, Copy & Paste, then crop. Dave |

Yup, that's about it. If you want the clothing to have nice shading and hems and details like that, it takes quite a bit of time to make the first one. After that, if you don't have complex patterns, making variations on a theme goes very quickly.

Once I get BodyShop running, I tend to make 10 or more things on the same mesh! If you put the shading and highlights on a separate layer and paste in new patterns underneath it, you can even do patterns quickly!
I usually have a couple "scale" commands in there too.

Yeah, that's the ticket--put the shading and any other details in other layers on top of the pattern. Then the only tricky thing to making the same garment with another fabric pattern is getting the pattern to come out right.
I ought to do that, but I have a tendency to just do the thing I wanted and then think, "All right! I'm done! I can close Body Shop now!"
