![]() While poking around this morning, I tried to hop over to the Blarney Stone.
Imaging my surprise when I discovered your basic squatter link site! Yeah, I know, people's interests change, but the Blarney Stone is one of those sites you just assume will be around in some form forever...

![]() Aw, darn. There's not much you can do if you lose interest; it costs a lot money to maintain a web site on line. Once upon a time, my hope for SimsHost was that it would be able to keep sites available, but it didn't turn ou that way.
I often wonder how cybersquatters can afford to do that. I suspect that they are fronts for an apparently legitimate domain name registrar that makes a lot of money selling your stolen domain name back to you.

![]() Actually, it's probably one web site with about a zillion domain names parked on it and a php script that figures out which quasi-page to display for the "visited" domain name. The rest of your theory is probably right!

![]() Right. It's not the web site that costs so much, but the domain name registration. Of course, if you are the domain name registrar, I suppose you can charge yourself anything you want, including zero.
