Here's a bit of silliness: After I removed the old drives from the box and buttoned everything up, the machine would not boot up. No response at all from the power-on switch. EEEK!
When I opened the case again, I saw that in the process of pulling out the cables to the old drives, I had dislodged the connector that goes to the front panel switches.
Now Windows Vista is booting up again, but unfortunately I still don't have access to my old data, dang it.
