Storms... that was one of the things I really liked about Houston when I first moved here after living in Seattle for seven years. Houston has weather; Seattle has climate.
Seattle is a beautiful city but it's like living in a still photo. I counted five thunderclaps in the seven years I lived there. In contrast, Houston has very lively, changeable weather with thunderstorms moving across the land like stately tall ships upon the sea. Really fun stuff!
