Thanks, Kimmy and Crystal and Bucky! We made it home!
The only visible damage to the house we're renting is one fake shutter that's sitting in the flower bed; however, the whole house stinks to high heaven! Apparently it was food that spoiled in the refrigerator. We didn't think to clean out the refrigerator because we thought we would be gone for at most one or two days.
Another anomaly: When we got home, the front door was unlocked and our landlord's daughter's card was in the door. It doesn't look like anything was stolen but you can imagine that finding the front door unlocked does not make me happy.
Well, the good news is that if we can just close on the other house, we will be out of here within a few days!
It doesn't seem like a good time to be trying to mortgage a house, but hey, the whole idea is to keep the banking industry going!
