Solstice greetings

My friends, what ever you believe, may I take this opportunity to thank you for your fun and friendship.
And may I wish each and every one of you and your loved ones the very best and safest of Holiday Seasons greetings.

And now I have to go.
The man that owns the farm, is threatening to make me actually pay some rent this year, unless I go and drink beer with him.

Oh how hard life is.:trout:  :blob7:

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Happy holidays folks!

Happy Holidays to you and yours...:)

Darn, I missed the solstice this year. It happened last Saturday at eight minutes after midnight local time.

Up in Seattle they have less than five hours of daylight on the winter solstice. It was a tradition for some of the guys from Boeing to go to a park at noon and, fortified with rocket fuel, do whatever sun worshipping was possible that day. It was the only way we'd get to see daylight! Well, cloudlight, to be precise.

The weather guy is promising nice fluffy white snow tomorrow, but I don't have it yet.

Glad our days aren't quite that short!

I did make the nummy fudge toffee cheesecake and apple walnut bread...

That does sound good! Not quite tempting enough to braze the Frozen Waste Of The North for, but still tempting!

It's really good! The trick is to cook the sweetened condensed milk in a big bowl so it doesn't boil over.

Added benefit: the caramel stuck the great-nieces mouths shut so they had to stop bickering for 2 minutes!

Greg 12-26-2007 12:28 AM

Got it. Big bowl. Silent nieces.

More snowballs please. LOTS more snowballs please.

Although today a cool change is expected to keep the daily high to not much over 100F\38C, should stay under 40C today. May be even drop to 33C tomorrow. Hmm, may need jumper tomorrow, cold summer day.

This time of year, every Aussie home is fully plumbed with hot and hot running water.

Can't wait for the hot weather for the beach.

Greg 01-01-2008 12:08 PM

Hey, last night the temperature here got to be the same... down to 33! :)

Of course, that's in Farenheit.

Miros1 01-01-2008 03:18 PM

We just got new fluffy white stuff, perfect for snowballs! However, underneath it is the plowed up nasty icy stuff.

The Goddess blesses her minion yet again.
She is sage, She is 1 = _()_m + _()_v + _()_k + _()_a

(sorry about the very crude representation of the algebraic omega)
