Poetic license, I s'pose, though it was sort of a plot point that in Steve's book the jumper didn't make messes everywhere he went.

Yeah, that's why I find it so annoying. Apparently, in the movie universe, if a Jumper has time to really concentrate, the jump rot can be minimized, but panic jumps will take quite a bit of stuff with them.

Also, in the book, David tried to jump while handcuffed to part of a structure and can't. In the movie, a character says a Jumper killed himself trying to do that, then later, David jumps and takes a large chunk of Millie's apartment building with him. Very annoying!

Really don't see why they couldn't just do Jumper as it was written. You'd think an anti-terrorism story would have sold... but noooo, they gotta introduce the people trying to catch/kill the Jumpers.

Maybe Reflex will clarify that part. We've got it on order at the local bookstore... and yes, they've got several copies of Jumper and Griffin's Story in stock now.

That would really mess up those tricks where he grabs and guy and jumps to a location above a lake, releases him, and jumps to a nearby cliff before he hits the water.

I'm not sure that people in Hollywood can make a movie without venting their paranoia.

FYI, Reflex is a far better story than Griffin's Story and uses the original universe.

Sadly, I hope they don't make a Jumper 2 movie....

Just to update this thread....

In the original story line, there are two more books: Reflex, in which his wife learns to jump, Impulse, in which his daughter learns to jump, and Exo, which I don't own yet.

I really don't know why they won't let me buy books with food stamps... books are brain food!
