Handy Dandy "Stylizer" Utility!

6 Attachment(s)
Warning! This program operates on the PackageDB.xml file produced by Delphy's Download Organizer. If you don't have DDO, this program won't do much for you!

Rough instructions:

Unzip to a folder (not in C:\Program Files if you use Vista).
Copy PackageDB.xml from the Download Organizer folder to the Stylizer folder.
Run the program. It does require JRE 1.6.
Choose one of the XSL files that came with Stylizer.
Choose the PackageDB.xml file.
Type a filename to receive the HTML output. You can use the same filename prefix as the XSL file, but be sure to change the suffix!
View the HTML file to learn about your downloads!

If you get bizarre error dialogs, post a picture and I'll try to figure out what happened.

What this does for you:

The hair-recolors.xsl file produces a list of hair meshes and their recolors. If all or most of the recolors have the same color bin after them, they probably need to be binned.

The mesh-texture-crossref.xsl file produces a list of all Body, Clothing, and Hair meshes and their recolors.

The skintone-bodymeshes.xsl file produces a list of Skintones and the custom meshes they use. If you use default replacement meshes, they'll be listed too.

For technical people: This program can be used to apply any XSLT file to any XML file. Enjoy!

Edit: I've added a replacement mesh-texture-crossref file, which runs much faster. No luck adding a progress dialog yet, sorry!

Edit: Added the xsl file which generates an HTML report for object meshes and recolors.

Rose, I tried this last night and it sort of went into oblivion. The program showed as running in task manager but never produced the html file. I do have JRE loaded. I'm running XP. Is this something specific to Vista or is another program needed? BTW, my packagedb file is 17 mb. Could there be a limit somewhere on the file it is capable of searching?

Thanks for the report. I'll see if I can add a progress window or something.

I'm running XP too, so that's not the problem. I tested it with a packageDB file that was a couple hundred meg, so that shouldn't be it. It did take a while (several minutes) to run the "mesh-texture-crossref" file tho.

Added the object mesh/recolor cross reference file.

Warning: I may have typos, so please tell me if anything seems to be missing from buy or build mode objects. For example, DDO lists BuildModeWindow as a catagory, but the XML file seems to say BuildModeWindows.

I'll tidy this up in the morning.

I think I have the typos fixed now. Please report anything that's still not showing up...

Looks snazzy!

*snatches*

I'll have to try it out as soon as I get the chance!

Nice little utility! The file open dialogs were a bit confusing at first, as was the output file type, but once I figured those out it's been very useful.

Yeah, Java for Windows doesn't let you customize the Open and Save dialogs very much, which drove me nuts since the Java documentation said you could. However, I like it Java based, since Mac and Linux people can use it too!

This tool looks really useful. I cannot get it to finish running though. I have the latest version of the ddo, a fully updated java, and running on vista. The process is listed on my task manager, but never shows cpu use, and I left it for an hour and it didn't finish. It doesn't give me any error messages at all. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks for making this tool :salute:

Hm, I've had someone else report that problem too. Guess it's time to look at it!
