Dang, I just discovered something interesting in my trusty baby name book.... "Greer" is the Scottish feminine form of.... wait for it.... Gregory!

Greg 07-06-2007 11:18 PM

And now I know!

In Baumdoubt, Georgina had twins whom she very creatively named George and Georgia.

Miros1 07-21-2007 03:53 PM

I once had a Sim named Georgia who had a little girl named Georgette.

MikeD's take on broiled sandwiches:
Quote:

Rose/Miros feeds MikeD cheese sandwiches
You say, "do broiled sandwiches count as grilled cheese?"
You say, "we had a whole thread on the subject on SunSims"
MikeD-2 says, "broiled = grilled, at least in the british isles"
MikeD-2 says, "the broiler is that thing in the stove with the rack and the
flame above it, right?"
MikeD-2 says, "if it's a place you could make toasted cheese sandwiches, then
it counts anyway"
<snip>
You say, "yes, broiling is baking with the heat coming from the top"
MikeD-2 says, "well, that tends to be called a grill over here, so..."
<snip>
MikeD-2 says, "it's probably the main way of making toasted cheese sandwiches,
the ones with the cheese all melted"
MikeD-2 says, "I'm partial to them now and then, especially with some ham, but
our broiler has been broken for over a year"
MikeD-2 says, "and my mom keeps hiding the sandwich toasters, both of them"
MikeD-2 says, "the problem is my daughters, they like to use stuff, but they
don't like to clean it after"

Hmm... from the standpoint of a purist, I don't think that cooking a cheese sandwich under a broiler would count as grilled cheese.

Miros1 07-21-2007 09:22 PM

Don't knock it til you've tried it!

Sita 07-23-2007 07:06 PM

Wow I am out of Simsworld for a little while and all sorts of amazing things happen - like the development of Greg as Grilled Cheese Sim....
mmm maybe the name Greer would work ... but that Georgina sim is lovely.

Greg 07-23-2007 08:41 PM

I'm not sure how one creates a Grilled Cheese Sim but I think it has to do with achieving total aspiration failure in all other areas.

:grilledcheese:

Miros1 07-23-2007 09:00 PM

Not all other areas... Just use the aspiration changing orb when you're in low green or red aspiration. Result: one fresh minted Grilled Cheese Sim.

Greg 07-24-2007 12:46 AM

Is there a way for the game to change a sim to the Grilled Cheese aspiration automatically?

Miros1 07-24-2007 02:04 AM

Someone claimed their game glitched when a Sim ate a grilled cheese sandwich and made the Sim a Grilled Cheese Sim and lost their Uni-bestowed extra wants and locks. However, they deleted the Sim and saved, and when they opened up the lot again, the Sim was back to her original aspiration with the correct number of wants and locks.

I know Chelsea and her 6 kids ate a lot of cheese sandwiches and never became Grilled Cheese Sims!

Greg 07-24-2007 09:34 AM

That sounds suspiciously like a fabrication.

Miros1 07-24-2007 12:36 PM

Well, it's the only time I've ever heard of a Sim changing aspiration except for the time in University when you can change or using the Orb reward.

InSim will do it for you quite nicely! (It's ethier the Personallity or the Aspiration adjuster....I forget which...)

Greg 07-24-2007 09:01 PM

Oh, right! I'd forgotten that Insim can change aspirations. (I usually just use the testing cheat when I want to do that.)

I'll have to try that one of these days. Maybe two Grilled Cheesers in the same house can keep each other amused. Of course, this means I'll have to let two sims' aspirations degrade to that level, which rarely happens in my game. I have a bad habit of letting them have (almost) anything they want.

Miros1 07-24-2007 09:24 PM

Lol, they'd have to take turns "serving grilled cheese"! Other than that, I can just see the numbers flying... "Eat Grilled Cheese" "Serve Grilled Cheese to Sim" "Talk about Grilled Cheese"

BTW, Chester's lifetime want was to eat 200 grilled cheese sandwiches. By the size of his beltlapping belly, he was close!

Greg 07-25-2007 12:37 AM

Oh, I gotta try that! I was previously unaware that the game even counted the number of grilled cheese sandwiches a sim ate!

Miros1 07-25-2007 01:09 AM

It's like how many different Sims you've woohooed with... you only get messages when you achieve a Grilled Cheese Milestone!

Greg 07-25-2007 01:41 AM

Ta da! Introducing the newest residents of the odd town of Xanadu...

Grote and Geroosterde Kaas

They both went to college and majored in Drama because they figured that was their best chance of getting a show in Food TV where they could showcase their Grilled Cheese talents. Once they met in college, it was inevitable that two such incredibly compatible people would get married.

When they first arrived, they both wanted to buy a potty, shower, and refrigerator... and a stove! They also both want to gain a cooking skill point. And, of course, they want to serve Grilled Cheese to each other, talk to each other about Grilled Cheese, influence someone to make Grilled Cheese, and just plain old make Grilled Cheese.

And yes indeed, both of them have a Lifetime Want to eat 200 grilled cheese sandwiches.

Miros1 07-25-2007 02:25 AM

Lol, that's 3 of 3 for 200 grilled cheese sandwiches!

Better get them a dance sphere, they'll need it to work off all those sandwiches.... grilled cheese belly is especially unattractive!

BTW, I tried to make Chelsea a Grilled Cheese Sim too, but she survived the trip through the orb with green aspirations...

Greg 07-25-2007 04:13 AM

Aw, darn! They can't change the topic to Grilled Cheese! And making Grilled Cheese doesn't increase their fun motive! Darn! Darn! Darn!
